These Free, Printable Caterpillar Pattern Activity Pages are an easy, fun way to practice patterning skills with kids. There are three pattern worksheets where kids can complete shape patterns. The worksheets prompt kids with the beginning of a pattern and then kids use patterning skills to determine which shapes come next. This is an instant download, which means that you’ll find the PDF printable file at the bottom of this post.

These caterpillar patterning worksheets are great practice for recognizing and completing patterns. The patterns are made up of different shapes, so there’s also the opportunity for kids to practice shape recognition and shape drawing.

What do the Caterpillar Patterning Worksheets include?

These Free, Printable Caterpillar Patterning Activity Pages feature several different types of patterns. They include ABAB, AABB, AAB, ABB, and ABC patterns.

The patterns in these worksheets appear on the body of a caterpillar. Various shapes make up the patterns. For instance, one pattern is circle, circle, star, star. Kids can recognize the pattern and finish it by drawing the appropriate shapes.

These pattern worksheets are a great opportunity for kids to work with patterns and shapes. This activity also provides the opportunity to practice shape recognition and shape drawing skills.
