This Free, Printable Find My Name Activity is a great way to practice letter recognition. Kids find and color the letters in their names, and then practice writing their names.
My kids have long loved activities including their names. The letters in their names were some of the first letters they could recognize. This is fairly common. Scholastic explains that children often identify the letters in their names before any others.
In addition to recognizing the letters in their names, my kids have loved learning to spell and write their names.

In this activity, kids search amongst the letters of the alphabet for the letters in their names. When they find a letter that is in their name, they color it.
If a child’s name is Kelly, for example, they will find the letters K, E, L, and Y. If a letter is found twice in the name, as in the letter L in Kelly, the child can color it with two different colors. They may first color it yellow, and then again with blue, for example.
After coloring the letters in their names, kids practice writing their names at the bottom of the worksheet.
